Sigh! I’m sure this wasn’t that hard last time I did it but I’ve rebuilt my PC since then and not done much printing in the meantime!
I am trying to add Christian Vick’s Klipper Printer Additions (v3.0b9.1, I didn’t add them last time ) and I got a message about not importing the configs because I needed to add a printer first… fair enough, found out how to do that …
I selected SV06 Plus because there wasn’t an SV07 variant but then on the next dialog I select SOVOL and…
I get variations on that no matter what I do. Even backtracking and checking the “Can’t find my printer model” in the previous dialog makes no difference.
I mean surely (SURELY) the people behind Orca know that there are SV07 and SV08 models out already?
Anyway, can someone explain to me in simple terms how I add an SV07 printer to Orca?
Thanks
James
Hello,
I suggest you download Sovol OrcaSlicer from their wiki (wiki.sovol3d.com) for the SV06PLUS rather than the official version of OrcaSlicer.
Thanks for the replies. It’s really weird because I had all the problems I did from the “create Printer” option but then I tried the “Select/Remove Printers (System Presets) but nothing seemed to happen, which was when I wrote the post but when I closed my browser, a “Printer Selection” dialog had appeared… I selected “Generic Klipper Printer” with the 0.4mm nozzle which gave me the SV07 Plus option.
Weirdly, I seem to have ended up with an “0.2mm Standard @SOVOl SV07 Plus” printer on the menu below “Process” even if I have “Sovol SV07 Plus 0.4mm nozzle” as my selected printer (now “Sovol SV07 Plus 0.4 Network”).
Anyway, that’s done and I’ll carry on working through the Klipper additions thing…
EDIT: Now it doesn’t seem to want to import the filament types again suggesting I need to install the corresponding printer

OK,
I was getting some niggling problems so, in an effort to do it properly, I uninstalled my OrcaSlicer and followed gerGO PRINT 3D’s video, “Guide to Using Sovol Klipper with Orca Slicer and Christian Vick’s Klipper Additions SV07/+ SV06/+” which went fine until the point I had to add filaments, here (from adding printers, adding filaments is maybe 15 seconds later):
NOTES:
- I’m using Orca v2.3.0 stable rather than v1.9 something as in the video.
- At this point the I only have the SOVOL SV07 printer installed (not my SV07+), the one GerGO says to install because CV Additions are based on that (it’s precisely what his video tells viewers to do).
- My sole departure from the video is that I only imported “CV 1.55 SV07 Plus.json” because I only have an SV07 Plus.
The message I get when I try to import the filaments is:
“There are 0 configs imported. (only non-system and compatible configs) Hint: Make sure you have added the corresponding printer before importing the configs.”
It doesn’t matter whether I select “Sovol SV07 0.4 nozzle” or “CV 1.55 SV07 Plus”, I get the same message.
Any ideas?
James
