Z-axis block doesnt complete and qns for print quality

Hi I started my SV06 Ace Plus journey yesterday. I printed three pieces, two of them detached from the bed after some time (when around 70% done).

I am completely new to 3D printing and decided for the Sovol based on its open source approach.

Why does this happen?

Troubleshooting:
I have setup the printer in OrcaSlicer and connected via wifi (I ll attach the logs at the bottom).
I use a standard hatchbox filament
I have done the calibration process
I have cleaned the bed with alcohol before printing
The printer is on the floor after it was vibrating yesterday on the table

Can you also tell me if the rest of the quality looks good? Like the surface, the edges, etc? I have no idea what to expect.

Thanks a lot!

From the way the filament looks, like the layers aren’t adhering…I would say the main issue is your printing too cold. What temp is the hotend..??
There are some other issues also, but I think this is the main one.

it is printing at 220*.

I dont know, having many issues currently with the printer.

i just tried again and the printer hit the right side and kept trying to go right, it made a really terrible noise. it’s almost like it was incorrectly adjusted.

also before it started printing the hotend scratched into the bed, so now the bed is damaged! see image.

also it printed this time more to the right, not in the center of the bed.

I appreciate any comments. Maybe I should return the printer. My friend has a Bambulab and doesnt have these problems he just told me.

What type of filament do you use? PLA?

Becoming a 3D printer operator is not that easy.

You need to understand a number of settings before your prints will be satisfactory.

It takes time.

Looking at the pics again & the mark on the bed…
you tried to print the blocks standing up…
change the orientation so they are lying down with the lettering facing up.

yes, Im using hatchbox’ PLA

Thank @mich0111. I d love to learn more about 3d printing. It’s magical.

Do you recommend any specific ressources, like videos? Should I look at Sovol printers or generally just 3d printing? Orcaslicer? I dont know how transferable settings are that talk about other printers.

Can I just change settings in Orcaslicer for printing and experiment? How do you do it?

good call! I didnt even question it because when I opened the model in Orcaslicer it showed standing up and I thought it was a Z-Axis test.

Do you see these curvy lines (marked with a 1), how do I get rid of them?

Also there are some artifacts at the edge (marked with 2).

Some of that is ringing & some of it is from the model coming loose from the bed.
Can’t really use those pics until you print something else.

Hi,

To understand the causes of printing failures, I recommend you “3D printing failures” by Sean Aranda.

Could you tell me if you have ever performed print calibrations?

hi! Thanks for the recommendation, I ll check out the book by Sean Aranda.

I have done the auto calibration that happens when setting up the SV06. It s a four or five step process. Any other calibrations you recommend? More than happy to do them! @mich0111

In OrcaSlicer, you have directly access to numerous calibration prints.
