Sv08 Nose Dive

so basically any time I either start a print or run mostly any calibration the printer will run around go to the corner of the printer and then nose dive which has already costed me a bed plate and even when I change the Z-offset it will still nose dive and then either cancel or burn the plate or whatever is there I would also like to know how to save Z-offset but that’s for later the thing is even when I run Z-offset calibration it did the same thing which is what costed me my plate I don’t know if I don’t have something plugged in or what’s wrong but if anyone can help it’d be appreciated

I will upload a video later because I can’t as I have just created this account

@sovol3d

still cant post the video

Try going through a download site.

I’m gonna edit this a lot as I troubleshoot the issue for the most info

it goes to -5z when it happens and it can auto home perfectly fine

factory resetting had no result

but even when it thinks it’s stopping at 0.00z it still runs into the bed

Updating firmware also did not help

I’m all out of ideas I feel I need someone who knows the ins and outs of this machine to fix this lol

Are you doing the zero without the metal plate??? :scream:
On the magnet you do not have enought metal to trigger the z probe built in in the sv08. You should never doing that.

Humm…

you can use a different browser and it will let you watch the video it means the browser you’re on doesn’t support the video type it’s trying to play

Im using the plate it came with and the plate on the store I flipped it upside down after it dug into the front side it’s not a plate issue unless im not suppose to have the plate on im not really understanding what this message is saying plus if that was the case auto home wouldn’t work and would also dig into the plate

I’ve found the issue I just need someone to tell me how to fix it when the printer starts the magnetic sensor is no longer on the bed to tell it when the head hits the plate so it just digs in but what do I do do I move the pressure sensor somehow get the printer to start more forward like???

the printer needs at least +19y to stop it from digging in
can I change this in the configs Gcode like what?
also I need steps since this is my first printer

NVM I set

Ok, that is better, sorry i saw the black color and i trust that you maybe without the plate

About your fix, that works so fine but did you changed anything in the builtin config? If not, maybe it’s better to speak with the sovol support to double check if that is not a hardware issue with the endstop (that is a virtual end stop for y and x so if there is an issue here, maybe it’s an issue with your motor).
And anyway, it’s better to ensure that your probe is always on the plate. You can play with theses parameters to specify the limits.

[stepper_y]
position_min: 0
position_endstop: 364
position_max: 364

thanks I’ll mess with it more tomorrow to get everything sorted out I do think this is a manufacturing issue but if I can make the printer work then it won’t matter

since it messed up just on offsets and stuff I still have a lot to test to see what’s working and if anything is seriously wrong

just gonna be a lot of trial and error

The head might not home correctly if the cable loom gets stuck between the frame and extruder assembly during homing or when the belts are way too tight.

Also is the flying gantry assembled correctly between the carriages on the Z pilars ? not mounted on top instead of between as this is a tricky step in the assembly process.

Can you post a complete overview picture of the printer ?
