So i have a Sovol SV08 printer and i bought the eddy kit and everytime i try to connect error that i try connect under reset. So of course i try that. Same thing. Then i try lowering the frequency. Same thing. So i tried hot plug and same thing. The device is full red and not blinking. I spent more than 3 hours upgrading the system (installing the quiet motherboard and klipper screen and i want to finish the upgrade. Also i tried diffrent USB ports. Have a nice day/night.
Did you successfully flash the upgraded firmware to the toolhead MCU?
I cant connect even to the flasher. So i cant flash the thing.
Yes. I get that cannot connect to target.
Skip ahead and see if you can connect to the toolhead board. If not then ST link is DOA.
If that works then the new mainboard could be bad.
In either case get a support ticket open with Sovol.
Alright, ill try to flash the down mainboard. Then the upper one
I flashed the down firmware but still failing to connect to the extruder. Im not sure if i failed something or the board is just broken.
@cardoc Please help.
I think I have the same problem. I can flash the mainboard but when I try to connect to the toolhead, the target and target voltage are not detected and I can’t connect. The usb link led is green and the toolhead led is blue.
You got the firmware onto the mainboard?
ST link won’t connect to the toolhead now?
Correct. Now toolhead wont even connect with a diffrent program.
It seems your STlink works. Also the software and driver are working on your PC.
Triple check your wiring between the programmer and the toolhead board. Contact Sovol and see if they have any tips. You may have to replace your toolhead board.
Hello,
I have the same problem with the tool
head. I have 2 STlinks, neither will connect I have ordered
a new board.
greeting. I also had a little problem when flashing. if it helps, I flashed the motherboard without problems at the default speed, while flashing the board on the tool head was a problem for me until I reduced the transmission speed drastically, first I tried the lowest speed, I don’t know exactly what it is, but it was a few tens of Hz and everything stopped. then I tried a little more, maybe the lowest offered Khz and everything went ok
UPDATE: I took the motherboard for the extruder off and disconnected every wrie. Took to my computer and set it to the lowest frequency. Then everytime i keep increasing it until i recahed 4,0 mhz and it still worked? No idea why it worked. Anyways i successfully flashed it and updated the firmware. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for the solution!
I tried to connect to the toolhead at the lowest frequency, it worked, then I tried connect at 4 mhz and it worked too. So I flashed the toolhead and it worked !
