SV08 clicking noise coming from right hand side motor / gantry?

Hi everyone,

My SV08 has developed an annoying clicking sound which seems to be originating from the right hand side motor mount?

The noise seems to only be present when the right motor is driving the belts.

Hello,
Have you checked to make sure all the screws on the gantry are tight?

Seems to be similar to what I have with my machine.

Here’s a short video clip from my printer while moving only the right motor, with CPU fans off:

Interesting, sounds very similar, but perhaps not as frequent? I’m guessing its coming from the idler, but unsure. Have you changed your belts to anything after market? I switched mine after I installed the new toolhead, and about a month later is when it started with the noise.

I would contact Sovol, but they were non-responsive to previous emails about an unrelated problem

Please let us know if you figure out the issue

As has been described in the other thread, the sound occurs approx but not exactly twice per revolution of the idler pulley and motor drive pulley.

The only thing I’ve changed is installing the enclosure. Other than that, the printer is in stock configuration. I’ve sent an e-mail to Sovol EU at outlook yesterday.

Hello,
I’m really surprised they haven’t replied to your emails.
Have you sent an email to info@sovol3d.com with your order number and a description of your problem?
They usually reply within a week.

In my case, I got a reply after the weekend and they’ll be sending me a couple idler pulleys and an axle. This will take a week or two (China to Germany), I’ll report back if this solves the issue.

I’ve got a couple spare parts (4 idle rollers and one axle) in the mail today, but haven’t gotten around to installing them yet. And I’m pretty sure I won’t install the provided axle as it’s way too thin. Diameter measured is 5.95mm, should be 5.995mm. The axle has noticeable play inside the new idle rollers. Simply tilting the axle with mounted roller leads to sliding, see video. That’s a no-go.
