Hey everyone, not sure if its normal but does the stepper motors on the sv06 plus run super hot?
All 4 of mine are extremely hot to the touch and im wondering if thats normal. When i say hot i mean i cant keep my fingers on them…the only other printer ive ever had was and ender3 and sure the steppers got warm but not like this…
Warm/hot is normal because the voltage is set higher.
I’m getting a warning message about the temperature of the stepper motor on my SV06 ACE.
Don’t you?
Nope, never seen it.
There are lots a variables involved but time is the main one.
Faster print speeds require higher acceleration. Higher accelerations mean higher motor currents. Power dissipated by the motor increases with the square of the current. Also the motor cools to the ambient environment based on (the temperature difference from motor to room) multiplied by (time).
Printing faster means more heat generated AND less time to get rid of it.
Your ender would have gotten hot too at the same acceleration and speed you are printing at now.
