I found that on a long print the stepper motors 42-40, were getting to hot to touch, so looking at what other high speed printers use, I purchased a pair of 42-48 stepper motors.
Easy to fit and due to the higher torque from these, I found that the printer was a lot smoother and less noisy.

Hi,
Have you changed something else with these stepper motors ?
Not change a thing, they just bolted on and just plugged in the wire connector and they run perfectly.

Could you please send me the link to these stepper motors ?
It seems several models exist.
Didn’t you change the vref either?
Got the motors from amazon,
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SIMAX3D-stepper-1-5A-3-8V-Creality-extruder/dp/B0B8DCFFL1/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=42x48+stepper+motor&qid=1696349073&s=industrial&sr=1-7.
I’ve also changed the Hotend cooling fan to a 40x20 blower and part cooling to a 50x20 blower fan, which help no end when printing at 250mm/s.
