Hello, I’ve got my SV08 last Friday, and so far it was okay with the white PLA that came with the printer. I did have some issues with the autoleveling going way too low, but after doing a probe calibration and retrying all of the leveling procedures, that problem resolved itself. Now, I’ve switched to some Sunlu high speed matte black PETG, and suddenly I can’t get a good level. The nozzle is always too high, and the print doesn’t adhere well. How the hell does a filament change cause this??

PETG is fussier about nozzle height than PLA. PETG is somewhat elastic at print temperature and wants to curl up as it solidifies. The filament change didn’t “cause” anything. It simply “exposed” a minor flaw in your setup.
PETG first layer tips:
Increase your bed temperature
Increase your first layer nozzle temperature.
Decrease nozzle/bed clearance.
Increase first layer flow ratio
SLOW down your first layer print speed
Change print surface type or use glue.
Thanks! I’ve tried using negative Z offset in the saved_variables.cfg, but it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference. Settings: 255°C on the nozzle, 75° on the bed for the first layer. 70° for subsequent layers. First layer speed: 30mm/s, 90mm/s for infill. I’ve done some measurements on a test print (single layer print), and it seems to be 0.4mm instead of the 0.3mm I have set in OrcaSlicer. I am using a textured PEI plate, don’t have any glue on hand right now. I’ll try increasing the first layer flow to 105%. Any other tips? Thanks!
