Sovol SV08, BTT HDMI 5 v1,2

Hi, someone has succeed to make BTT HDMI 5 v1.2 touchscreen work? The screen is showing klipperscreen, but is irresposive to touch.

You have to hook up HDMI and USB

Touchscreen uses USB

Sovol’s unit is the same way

Yes, this is the way the touchscreen is currently hooked.

Apparently the “mouse” function of the touchscreen is not being identified by Linux on your mainboard.

A different cable might help.

I’d connect to a different computer. The HDMI and “mouse” functions should both be supported by Windows and Mac. A Linux machine would be preferred if available.

On initial connection the “mouse” may end up on the main display. doesn’t matter as long as it connects.

Thank you. I’ll try it and report results.

Hi, I’ve tried four cables with no success.

I’ve connected the touchscreen to a Linux PC. The screen works right as monitor, the mouse is fully operating, but no touching is recognised.

I would have to assume your unit is defective. Contact BTT and start the return process.

I’m in that process.

I’m just waiting for a couple of days. They ask me for doing that while looking for “possibles” solutions. Any way, I was told to return the items if no solutions were available.

I appreciate your help. It was really useful.

Hi Alex, the HDMI lead handles video. The USB lead handles the touch and power. Your problem is, I am almost sure the USB lead you are using is a power only,no data. To to a known good electronics store and ask them for a USB 3 to USB C POWER AND DATA cable. Make sure its a good quality lead, or your hart will be broken with the lead dropping in and out. Run the cable neatly and use cable types but be sure not to tighten them too tightly.

Hope this helps.

Regards. Mike Irish.

Now it could be that your screen is faulty, but I fought it.

Hi Mike, thanks for your advice. Actually, I’ve already returned the touchscreen, as I wasn’t sure whether if it was defective or not.

Regards.
