I have 2 SV08s with the eddy probe from Sovol and one of them is exhibiting this very weird behavior where the unit will home and do the quad gantry leveling but when it comes to the following eddy calibration, the gantry wants to go through the bed. For some reason, I get better success when I preheat the bed to 75C, but when it is lower, it fails always. Makes no sense to me. Anyone seen this? I do not have this issue with the other unit. Occasionally I just have to restart the printer when it indeed tries to go through the bed and problem is solved, but not with the second unit. I do not get any errors by the way. I need to be able to print with lower bed temperatures and so it would be great to have a solution to this. Or perhaps the probe is defective.
Welcome to the forum.
If you search the terms “eddy crash” you’ll find this:
Read the thread, watch the video. Let us know it the problem persists.
Yea I’ve seen that and it does not address the problem I am having. It asks you to raise the temp of the extruder to at least 130C and I can do that all day long and it wont make a difference unless the bed is heated substantially.
Did you watch the video…at the 12 min. mark..??
Because that tells you to edit the temp from 200* to 150*.
Correct, I’ve done that and it didn’t solve anything.
@sovol3d
Sounds like an issue for Sovol after sale support.
Email them at info@sovol3d.com. Be sure to include your order number. I don’t know what their policy is on upgrade parts but can’t hurt to ask.
There are 2 hardware versions. Are both yours the same?
Thanks for the reply. How would I be able to tell which version I have?
Goto SV08 | Sovol 3D Printer Wiki and scroll down quite a ways and you will find the link for eddy kit firrmware. Inside the archive there are instructions and this picture:
