Printing High Temp PE6-CF

So I am using a SV04 I’ve had for a minute and I have tried flashing firmware from Bjoern to no avail and even tried doing an official firmware and still having an issue.

I am using the

  • :white_check_mark: 8GB SD card that came with it (saved the other standard files and my gcodes onto my PC for safe keeping)
  • :white_check_mark:FAT32
  • :white_check_mark:4096
  • :white_check_mark:single partition

I want the new firmware specifically for the hotend temp which needs to be 280 minimum and I’ve already done the hotend physical upgrades as well as switching to hardened steel nozzle. I will be trying another SD as soon as I can get ahold of one but I also don’t understand how to install the associated screen update. Just unzip the DWIN_Set onto another SD card after doing the firmware? Or do I put both it and the .bin together on the same SD card?

I am just a little lost as to where to go next

Hello HonganOs & welcome to the forum!
Short answer: The display update requires a MicroSD-card with the unzipped DWIN_Set folder in the root directory. The display housing has to be opened iot insert the MicroSD-card.
Detailled version available here. Sovol’s how-To documentation is available here.

Good luck!

ah I didn’t expect that so the firmware first via the new SD I have coming, then turn off again and insert that microSD or do both actions at once before turning it on for the Firmware update?

It will work any way. I would recommend to update sequentially iot ensure that each update went well. After both updates the info screen (Start screen > Settings > Printer info) should show the correct firmware & display software version.

I install the display software first (if needed). I then turn the printer off, insert the SD card and turn the printer back on. I then watch the screen and if it boots up right away, I am fairly sure the new firmware did not update. I usually (maybe always) have to rename the firmware from firmware.bin to something like aaa.bin. I don’t know why, but the last three updates have been this way for me.

Hello @HonganOs were you able to make that firmware update and print the pa6-cf ?
Tell us more about the hardware upgrade that you have made to the hotend !
Have a good day

And if you got it worked out. How did it go with the filament. Trying to tune PET CF 17 and struggles abound.
