Printer Not working

I cannot print on my new Sovol SV 08. Z offset varies every time I run it, some times it registers in the - and sometimes in the + and the numbers vary greatly. I am Running 2.3.3, Have run a bed mesh several times. There is nowhere on the main panel to even check the Z offset (What?) I did purchase the small touch screen as an addon, and all the z offset values conflict, or I just don’t understand them. I m going to have to return this printer to Amazon it was a big mistake. I thought this was an out of the box printer that would just run, it can’t even complete its own internal calibration test. I have no time for this. Support is useless.

But that is true, this printer is not designed to be plug and play (or not exactly like that). I trust it’s a good printer but it require fine tuning.

I don’t own SV08 so I can’t help you.
That said, I don’t understand why you’re sending this message if you don’t want support.
There are a lot of guys on this forum who can help you and, as @mistral says, this kind of machine requires a personal investment to have efficient results.
It’s a pity to quit so quick but if it’s your choice…:person_shrugging:

I mostly run mine from an Ethernet connection so I don’t use the screen all that often, but it’s nice when I need it.

The next question is why is it wandering around? Most likely it’s the poor choice of prox switches that Sovol decided to use.

If you are inclined to muck about with your printer, there are some nice alternatives for bed leveling out there.

But also check the belts for looseness, tighten them only if necessary. Check the extruder and bed as well.

I think your probe is defect, I had the same issue.

Contact support and they may send you a new one, but because you ordered via a reseller it may vary and you may have to contact the reseller instead.

Also to expect that any 3d printer in this price range to unbox and print without any issue is maybe overexpecting.
