OnShape for Sovol 07 version of Cura?

I have the specific version of Cura for Sovol 07: 1.7.0

Are there any updates?

Also, I tried to install the OnShape extension for Cura (to directly import from OnShape into Cura slicer) but apparently that extension does not work with the Sovol 07 version of Cura – and I get an error message stating that the extension is not compatible.

Just what are the particular unique features of the Sovol 07 Cura and the general Ultimaker version?

Sovol’s version of Cura is old. It is pretty much based for speed.
The current version of the real Cura is 5.8.0.

You can install the newest Cura, you will have to add the printer during setup.
It will look the same until you start looking around in Settings & find a lot more options.

So, will the newest Cura have the Sovol 07 in its list of printers? I don’t know why I’m making an issue of this, but for some reason, I just remember that when I first got the Sovol 07, there was something about the setup which made me install the Sovol 07 version of Cura.

Anyway, your help is much appreciated!!

I found some answers (see below) since the Ultimaker Cura 5.8.1 does not specifically list the SV07.

Should I select the SV06 profile?

If so, will Cura be making use of Klipper?

Will Cura recognize the presence of the filament runout sensor?

Sovol SV06 vs SV07 Comparison

Based on the provided search results, here are the key differences between the Sovol SV06 and SV07:

  1. Klipper Firmware: The SV07 comes with Klipper firmware out of the box, whereas the SV06 does not. Klipper enables faster print speeds and provides more advanced features for calibration and tuning.
  2. Print Speed: The SV07 is reportedly 150mm/s faster than the SV06, even when compared to the SV06 with the Klipper add-on.
  3. Filament Runout Sensor: The SV07 has a filament runout sensor, which is not present in the SV06.
  4. Hot End: The SV07 uses a beefier hot end, similar to the one found in the SV06 Plus, whereas the standard SV06 has a different hot end.
  5. Power Supply: The SV07 has a higher-quality power supply compared to the SV06.
  6. Blower Fan: The SV07 comes with a larger blower fan for faster printing, whereas the SV06 does not.

In summary, the SV07 offers faster print speeds, advanced firmware, and additional features like a filament runout sensor and beefier hot end, but at a higher price point. The SV06 remains a viable option for beginners or those on a budget, with a more straightforward design and potentially lower cost.
