Hi! I’m very new to 3D printing. Got a SV06 ACE for christmas, and it worked fine for a while. Now all of the sudden the nozzle stops well above the print bed, but the gantry is fully lowered. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
Hello,
Could you explain exactly what you are doing?
By the way, the nozzle looks burnt. Did you buy your printer new or not?
If not, did you make a mistake?
I am just trying to home it. All I do it turn the machine on, then push “home”. I did indeed purchase the printer new.
What is the gantry hitting on that stops it from moving lower?
A picture of the whole printer would help us understand where your problem is.
Have you changed your hotend?

That is the only thing I can think of to raise your nozzle that far.
This is your problem, the couplers are too high, the Stepper & Z-Rod should meet in the middle.
Loosen the 2 hex screws & drop the couplers down.
thank you will try that!
I just re-read your 1st post…if this is your first printer…there are more steps you have to do.
You might have to remove the top mount in order to lower the rods, but since the couplers are so high I think you might be able just to turn the rods by hand. Start with one side & then do the other.
After you have done this re-do all the calibrations as if new.
Post back if you have any questions.
This is from my Ace.
whoah. yeah the couplers on mine are much farther from the top of the motor bracket.
Hi,
From memory you have to unloose the screws at the top of the rod to turn it at hand
that did it! Thank you.
