New SV06 Plus Ace stuck on klipper connecting

Hello,

I just put together my SV06 Plus Ace and after turning it on I connected to my wifi and started the initial calibration test. The nozzle moved, the plate moved, and then it threw an error with something like !! mcu failure to connect, and had a restart button. Now when turning it on it goes to the main screen and has klipper connecting at the top and throws similar mcu errors occasionally. I was able to upgrade the firmware using OTA in the settings, it upgraded to 8.0, though that didn’t effect anything. I sent in a ticket to support but they are closed for the weekend. Any advice? Thanks!

Check all the plugs on the mainboard AND the toolhead board. Not uncommon for a plug to wiggle loose during shipping. That’s the reason for the hot glue Solvol squirts everywhere, but it is not 100% effective

Thank you for the reply! I checked all the connections on the main board and the toolhead board and everything looks connected. The only one I couldn’t verify is the ribbon cable from the touchscreen to the mainboard because it has a piece of black tape over its connection and I didn’t remove that to check it.

When I put everything back together it seemed like it connected to klipper, but during the calibration setup after the nozzle tested up and down and the plate moved it errored and lost the connection again. Makes me think some connection or wire is bad and jostling it makes it connect until one of those parts moves and it loses contact? I may just have to be patient and wait for support on Monday. Was just excited to get going! Thanks again.

Just a follow up in case others find this thread, support confirmed this error is a communication problem between the tool head and the main board. They are sending a replacement tool head and cable, but they’ve been stuck in customs for several days now so still haven’t been able to replace and test. Appreciate the help.

I ordered an Ace toolhead and cable on the 9th of May for a DIY upgrade to an old printer. Cable is STILL in China. I bought components to fab a cable but haven’t put it together yet.
