Issues with SV08 out of the box

Printing problems with SV08 out of the box.

Initial print quality is terrible. Trying to run flow calibration with the included PLA resulted in a complete fail. I’m not certain how to diagnose or correct this problem. Any advice would be welcome.

Hello,

First of all, the filament supplied in the box is of poor quality.

Try another one.

Can you then tell us the temperature you are using for printing?

Have you printed the model supplied with the printer, the benchy for example?

Like @mich0111 said…you can use the test filament on the included Benchy, but otherwise just trash it.
From the tiny pics you posted, it looks like the Z-Offset is too low.
I would re-do all your calibrations again.
Also, is this your 1st printer..??

Not my first printer. Not even my first SV08 but this one seems to have bed leveling issues. Sometimes it won’t finish the ZOffset Calibration which I have run 10 times at this point.

I already have the Eddy Duo and plans to go Mainstream Klipper but I wanted to verify a baseline before I tore into it.

Thanks

I set the temp for 220 using the included filament. I had used Inland PLA initially for as a test but that failed at 220 as well. Brought it down to 210 and not much better.

A temp tower printed successfully between 230 and 190 with very little difference between the tower levels but that next print for the flow calibration was botched.
