I just purchased a new SV08 Max and was very happy with it. It’s made some great prints and has been very accurate. I bought it for the size as I build large parts for cosplay and other things. So after running it through its paces and dialing it in I threw on a large piece to print. Everything started fine and was working great. Don’t get me wrong I take full responsibility for what happened it’s the headache that follows.
The print came loose from the plate and I got a rats tail that stopped the printer. I stepped out and it happened within that time. The machine was stopped with a thermistor error. I got everything apart and cleaned up and the thermistor wires were separated which is why it actually stopped. I went online to order parts, more than happy to pay full price and shipping and guess what. Exactly there’s nothing available state side. Nothing compatible, and nothing out of their own warehouse. I was able to find a hotend kit on Ali that would take two weeks to get here, or a thermistor, and heat chip that would take longer.
How is this even possible that they didn’t stock one of the most likely replacement parts needed in the states, as well as not even shipping from their warehouse in China. I’m about to disassemble the whole thing and return it to amazon and get a replacement just over a thermistor. Everything breaks for whatever reason. I’m not blaming the machine, it’s build quality, or anything else related to it. I enjoy it immensely and want to continue using it but to just sit for two weeks over a $9 part if frustrating at the very least. Come on Sovol you can do better.
