Fixing my sovol05 firmware

Hello,
I have an used SOVOL SV05 and it came with an undesirable change: the firmware has been changed in order to disable the display, by making its functions being manipulated straightly by the ultimaker Cura.

But I’m a beginner in this universe, so I choose the prusa to learn at first. I’ve followed the following steps for trying to reverse the situation but I didn’t succeed

I made my SD card stay only with this file: SV05 Firmware - Google Drive

still so the display of the machine stays paralyzed: nothing happens. I can’t select any option.

OK, your talking about 2 different things here…
1: the screen display
2: the slicer, Cura or Prusa

One does not control the other, so can you be more clear or post some pics/screenshots of your problem.

1: the screen display

The options are shown, but I can’t navigate through them, or make any choice.

2: the slicer, Cura or Prusa

I have the prusa installed

The SV05 uses Marlin Firmware, you have to push the knob down & turn to scroll through the menu..then you have to push it down again to choose.

If Klipper has replaced Marlin, then you are going to need a different screen.

As you rotate the knob it is a little hard to tell which icon is selected at first. Watch closely as you rotate the knob then press the knob in to click.

That’s the problem: when I rotate the knob, nothing happens. I can’t navigate through the options

How do I do to know if klipper has replaced marlin?

You have to click it first, you have to push the knob down, are you able to do that..??
You don’t have Klipper or you would have a touch screen as a replacement.

“Turn the knob“. I’m alredy doing this

in order to make it more clear, please take a look on this video:

I can’t tell if you pushed the knob first or not.
Do you feel little clicks when you turn the knob..??
Pull the knob off & try pushing it down & turning without the knob on.
If that doesn’t work, you will need to replace the screen.

@sovol3d
Will this screen work on the SV05..??

The screen can work on the SV05
