Extruder spring size + rate?

While swapping spools and getting a clean feed into the extruder I dropped the tensioner screw with the spring and the washer and the spring has gone bye-bye.

Anyone know the size + rate of the stock spring so I can try to source one at Ace?

thx

Have you checked out the ACE wiki?

Looking at it right now but I have yet to find any information quite so low-level.

I was hopeful the assembly instructions might have it in the parts list but, alas, no. From memory, I believe the extruder may have come pretty much pre-assembled.

Ah!

I will just order that and measure the spring when it gets here, I guess.

Otherwise, you can ask Sovol at info@sovol3d.com

Here it is in the CAD model

I bet it was longer and they sliced the end flat. Ground, not closed is a unusual end detail.

If you have a MAX, you should be looking at MAX or ZERO parts, not the SV06’s.

I found another one for a couple of bucks cheaper by first finding more information about the extruder used in this model. That other one is specifically listed as for SV08 (MAX).

I was able to find one that was close at the local Ace Hardware and then cut it down. While I was putting the shield back on the old spring fell out. It had somehow fallen into the shroud. lol

I guess I have an emergency spare (or two) now.

Where in the world did you find the CAD files??!

3D .Step files only. I took the spring to a separate workspace and made the drawing so I could dimension it.

I still haven’t figured out the encoding on part names. The Chinese comes thru as Unicode jibberish.
