Auto measure not completing

I was trying to run the measue feature on my printer and it will get to step three and not raise or lower but the sensor pin drops and raises then it returns to home.

Any idea how to resolve this. I have pulled the power cord and let it sit for a few days. Whe. I tried it again the same thing happened.

I would connect via USB with Octoprint or Prointerface and see what errors show in the terminal.

Hi gmarkusic,
there might be a couple of reasons for your observations (in order of likeliness):

  • limit of distance between sensor and hot-bed exceeded => adjust bed screws by full turns, run tramming, then try leveling
  • firmware corruption => re-install printer firmware
  • CR-touch defective => connect USB host i.e. Pronterface & test CR-touch several times. In case of defective sensor replace it.
  • mechanical problem on X-axis => turn printer off, move left extruder along the X-axis manually & remove dirt in case of mechanical resistance
  • weak power supply unit => turn off nozzle & bed heating by setting 0°C temperature & run leveling. In case of success: Check PSU output voltage using a multimeter
