Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on for the Sovol SV07: Sovol SV07 YouTube Extension.

If you’ve ever wanted to watch videos or follow tutorials on your printer’s touchscreen while setting up a print or waiting for a bed to heat up, this extension integrates YouTube right into KlipperScreen!

I’m still working on audio, using the built in audio card (No speaker but an audio card?). Im happy about every advice.

Installation & Setup

Since the original MKS Pi OS runs an older Debian base, the installation guide walks you through fixing the package repository mirrors, installing chromium + onboard, and setting up the custom Klipper macros and icons.

This is an important and impressive project, but I don’t see the point of it.
I’m probably just lacking imagination.

No it’s definitely important. You don’t know how boring it is to wait until the printer ist heated up, if you use it every day. :wink:

I totally understand your efforts, but I prefer to use a big screen or a tablet when I want to watch a video.
It’s easier and more convenient.
In any case, I still appreciate your project.

I completely see your point. It’s way easier to watch a video on a tablet. I don’t want to force anyone to try my YouTube extension. But imagine that nobody would try out new things; you won’t be holding a tablet in your hands now.

I like that the possibility is there as it makes me wonder what else might be possible. But for the moment I don’t see it worth the effort and the risk of me screwing something up as I have a phone and a laptop for doing that sort of thing.

I don’t own a SV07, but this does look like a intriguing project, thank you for sharing!!

100% agree it can be boring/even memorizing sometimes watching/listening to the print etc…
I end up creating a short project while the printer works, read some tech article, never thought about linking those activities on the printers screen :thinking:
