Hi, I recently installed the official eddy upgrade and while its mostly working, its doing some odd things.
Firstly, sometimes it forces the nozzle into the bed right before it does a nozzle clean. Ive already done Gergo’s fix and lowered the temp in the configs, but its doing it from cold so that’s not the issue anyway. It doesn’t do it every print, just some. I’m not even sure why it needs to move the nozzle down at that point, it already is in position for cleaning so it makes no sense that’s even coded in. it also sometimes does it after cleaning when its travelled to the middle of the bed right before it calibrates. Again doesn’t happen every time.
Secondly, the first layer z is way too low, to the point where its so squished into the bed it takes the surface off and its very slightly dragging on it. I have to raise it .36 every time I start the first print of the day. Is there a way to tell it to just raise it without me having to do it every time?
Someone mentioned that the z offset might be commented out in the configs, which it is, but couldn’t tell me what number I needed to put in there.
[probe_eddy_current eddy]
sensor_type: ldc1612
#z_offset: 3.1
i2c_mcu: extra_mcu
i2c_bus: i2c1
x_offset: -16.43
y_offset: 10.22
vir_contact_speed: 2.8
Can anyone give me tips on fixing this so it isn’t recking the build plate any more than it already is? I have a new one ready to go on but I wont be using it until the printer stops damaging itself.
Thanks.
