SV06 Ace Y axis problem (foam removed!)

Hey all,

The Y axis of my new Ace is randomly making a horrendous grinding noise and not moving. I’ve never successfully made it more than a couple layers into a print before it happens and the layers get screwed up.

I definitely removed the two foam blocks from under the bed, and have searched very carefully for any sneaky ones remaining and can’t see any (even with the machine on its back)

The machine is able to home successfully, but jogging the Y axis after homing can cause it to grind and not move, then it gets very confused about where the bed is. Adjusting the belt tension appears to have no impact on the issue.

I sent a support email to Sovol already, but is there anything I can do? Thank you for any help!

You can’t see that piece of foam that’s in the back, you have to feel for it.
Turn the printer around so the back is facing you, reach your hand up under the backside of the plate between the plate & the Y-Axis Rail & check again.

I already removed that foam block during assembly.

Uploaded a video to show the issue

I’m having the same issue as well. All the foam has been removed and the bed still slams moving forward on the Y axis. BTW, just got my ace today, and still pretty excited about it.

Hello everyone. So my sv06 ace seems to have fixed it self. I didn’t change any settings. I just checked and tripled check to make sure I atually removed all the foam, and I did. However the bed seems to no long slam. Hopefully my issues is actually resolved and won’t come back. If it does I’ll update.

Just FYI.
The second foam block is not visible.
The only way to reach it is to flip the printer and to put your hand between the plate and the rails

I just created an account to say thank you, the foam was still there! I owe you a beer or coffee if youre ever in Pittsburgh.
