SV06 ACE with Cura Slicer

Hello,
normally i’m using my SV06 ACE with Orca Slice which works nearly perfect. But for printing RC Plane Models the Cura Surface Mode is needed to print this planes.

Has anybody integrated the SV06 ACE into Cura slicer? There are some Sovol printer in Cura but not the SV06 ACE.

Best regards

Klaus

In Orca:
Set parameters to 1
Set infill to 0%
set top layers to 0
set bottom layers to 0

Hi Cardoc,
thanks for your answer. I’ve checked this but it didn’t work. i’ve printed various RC planes with thin or single wall profiles. The difference with the Cura surface mode ist, that in the printing files have inner structures which have to be printed and this didn’t work with Orca. I’ve tried a lot of profiles, but also the guy who has created the files says, that they only work with Cura.
So i need an integration of the SV06 ACE into the Cura slicer.
Man thanks an best regards
Klaus

I asked Sovol when I got my Ace if I could use the SV07 profile, they said no..it would not work.
They told me that it was built for Orca & all future printers will also.

You didn’t post if you had another printer or not.

The only thing I can suggest that might work, is try to copy the Cura settings that you are using over the Orca. Not everything will be there or in the same place, but is might give you a base to work with.

Good luck & post back with your results.

What version of Cura are you using? I’d use Sovol3D Cura_1.7.2_x64 and tell it I had a Klipperized SV06. Edit the plate size and go.

Hi Cardoc,
with your Cura Version an the selection of
the klipperized SV06 its printing perfect. Many thanks for this.

Due to the fact that i am normally using Mac instead of Windows (i am using only a virtualized Windows) i will try to export the Klipperized SV06 Profile from your Cura into my Mac Version of Cura.

Knows anybody where the Printers are stored in Cura?

Best Regards
Klaus

I’m glad my guess worked out for you.

I haven’t used Cura in a LONG time so I’m not much help on moving profiles.

Perhaps this link has some help

Another thought, some years ago I helped an 8th grade teacher set up a classroom printer. Due to the students being on Chromebooks I set them up on astroprint.com. At that time you could choose Cura or Slic3r as your slicing engine. No idea if they offer use of Cura’s “surface” mode. Online slicing isn’t as flexible as local slicing, but it would eliminate the need to run a windows virtual machine.

Same here, looking on Sovol SV06 ACE profile for latest Cura. I was able to find only blog post regarding SV06, but as it is Marlin and not Klipper based, I doubt procedure is the same:

If you don’t need the “surface” mode I’d strongly recommend you learn to use Orca. Clinging to Cura is going to complicate your use of the Ace forever.

If you require the “surface” mode to print light weight models then

Klipper only supports some of the gCode commands supported by Marlin. Depending on the manufacturer, some gCode commands are embedded as macros. As a result, there is no uniform gCode command set for Klipper printers. Cura supports a large number of commands that Klipper printers do not understand. Even though Cura can be retrofitted with some plug-ins for Klipper, there is no guarantee that the Klipper printer will understand all commands. There is no option for Klipper in the device settings, and Cura treats these printers as Marlin printers.
Cura is a very good slicer! Unfortunately, it can do too much for Klipper. At best, Klipper only displays an error message. It is unpredictable what problems this will cause.
