Are replacement silicone socks for the extruder available separately anywhere? I can only seem to find them as part of the “Extruder Replacement Kit”, and it only includes one. This should be considered a consumable item like the nozzles and I was looking for a set of 5 or 6 (similar to the SV07 set)
Similarly, I would like to have spare 0.04mm nozzles on hand, but they only seem to be included in the “Hardened Steel Nozzle Set for Sovol Zero/SV08 Max” and again there is only one of that size mixed in with a bunch of other sizes I won’t use. (Yes, it’s a standard size on the Max and yes I can buy that size on Amazon but the Sovol ones are a known quality).
Finally, are replacement extruder drive rollers available? I have found on other printers that they wear out in time when printing abrasive materials like CF filaments.
1000% agree with everything you said. Sovol absolutely should get on the ball and offer these kinds of parts on their site. Saying to “email them” is a ridiculous solution.
Edit: I clicked too fast and didn’t realize this was about the SV08 Max and not the SV08, so the following may not apply (not sure if they use the same hotends)…
Not an ideal solution for you, since it costs more money, but I swapped out the hotend for a MicroSwiss hotend. In addition to offering a wider range of swappable nozzles, they also sell separate 3-packs of the socks.
Yes and no.There are certainly many manufacturer’s websites offering way more parts for way more models than Sovol will have to worry about for many a year. I can go to Kubota or Yamaha etc. and pluck parts and numbers off diagrams for models in the 1970’s and add them to my cart. So it is possible, but granted the companies I mentioned are somewhat better resourced.
I personally am not asking for every part possible to be listed. If I, say, need to replace one of the glass doors of my enclosure or a Z-axis drive motor then contacting someone for a special order is not out of line. But routine consumables like nozzles and silicone socks? I think that’s a reasonable ask to have those listed beside the complete extruder assembly or the hotend kit.
I mean, I’m trying to give them my money! As I said, I could order a compatible nozzle off Amazon and get it in less time. I don’t have to send anyone an e-mail or wait 12 time zones for a reply. I just ask that Sovol meet me half way here!
