I don’t know what to call it but from Facebook teasers and searches I believe Sovol is working on a new printer. Possibly a tool changer with 6 tools and a build volume of 300x300x350. Anybody know anything else? Is there a better place to get info or discuss what is in the works and perhaps express our views and desires?

On the weekly Sovol live streams on Wednesday night (US time), people keep begging for details but Sovol marketing is on their own schedule and they can’t be cajoled into releasing any extra info earlier than planned. They’re dribbling out teasers but it looks like we’ll need to be patient and hear about the new Sovol printer at their own schedule. They seem to be hinting that the filament change system is something new and hopefully better.
It looks like Sovol is taking a giant bold step in naming giving us an M1D or something like that instead of an SV09. But other than that their boldness gives me trepidation. I don’t expect to love this printer. IDEX was not on my wish list. Definitely not something I want to gamble on as an early adopter. I hope it wildly exceeds my expectations but I am glad most everyone else is jumping into tool changers in case Sovol’s leaves me cold. At the moment I am much more excited by Creality’s announcement emphasizing multi material handling from flexibles to brittle carbon filled filaments. Getting that right is what I want.
