Is there a way to switch the camera’s LED via the web interface (Mainsail)?

There doesn’t seem to be.

I’ve searched through the configs file, and the github repo sovol posted, for a gpio pin it is connected to, but it is not specified anywhere.

If we had that information, it would be trivial to add it to the UI somewhere, or at least make a macro that turns it on or off.

Thanks for the info. I was looking for that exact pin and couldn’t find anything. There’s a switch for that on the printer display. I just want to be able to switch the light on remotely when it’s dark and not have to walk to the printer. Unfortunately, I can’t find anything about the display interface on GitHub. Perhaps Sovol can give us a hint? A macro for Mainsail is certainly possible.

Hi,
You should write an email to Sovol asking for this.
Who knows…

Good idea! I had that too. Unfortunately no response from Sovol. Maybe someone is reading this and can help.

Be patient.
You have to wait a few days before you get an answer.
The Sovol team is not so numerous.

After more than a month, there will probably be no answer. I sent the question on November 11, 2024. I am not alone with this question. The German forum of drucktipps3d is already searching extensively for the solution. The problem is not vital. The printer also prints without light. It would still be nice to find a solution.

Sorry for you, maybe requesting again :crossed_fingers:

I’m using Obico with my ACE and there is no way to turn the light on in the app either.

At least, with your words, things are clear.

I didn’t want to connect the printer to the cloud. I haven’t got around to installing my own server yet. That’s why I haven’t used Obico yet. If we find out the PIN, it should be possible to switch the light with Obico.
I just hope that a competent Sovol employee will take a look at the forum here and forward the question to the right place. The SV06 Plus ACE is sure to be coming soon and it would be nice if it was already equipped with the switch. It’s not rocket science if you know the right address.

I’ve been tempted to just try every GPIO it could be. Turn it on for a second, see what happens. But that is potentially a bit dangerous :scream:

I may be a bit naive. I was hoping to get an answer to the question from Sovol in the Sovol forum. I think it’s a bit risky to just send a signal to every PIN. Display, sensors… I have no idea what could happen. I’ve already tinkered a lot with printers and firmware, but I knew what I was doing.

If Sovol hasn’t sent a reply, maybe @sovol3d can.
Remember there is a time difference, you won’t get a reply until tonight.

Good idea with the @! I should have thought of that myself! I’m actually very patient. As long as I don’t get the standard answer “send us a video and a copy of the invoice”, I’m pretty forgiving. I didn’t want to use the post for criticism either. I’m glad that there are people here who want to help. We’ve just been puzzling over the topic in the other forum for some time. That’s why I registered here. The first attempt was to search on GitHub. That didn’t work, so the next attempt was via SSH. We’re actually a pretty resourceful bunch and there’s almost always a solution. So that everyone benefits, this will be published publicly. I have no idea whether it’s welcome if I include a link here. But since it’s a German forum, it probably won’t be of much interest here.

You can always post a translation of the German forum

There is already a good explanation for this in the Klipper Discourse. The macro only needs to be adapted to the appropriate PIN.

The complete dialogue on the SV06 ACE can be found here:

The solution to this question is also discussed there.

I had a reply to my inquiry:

Hi

The pin connected to the LED is GPIO2_A3 of the SOC, corresponding to gpio67
