@sovol3d Sorry for saying that but external feeding mechanism in SV08MAX is horrible. Even with helper mods you get false positives all the time.
I’m new to Voron like printers and currently after some research about other options I would like to add filament runout sensor on top of toolhead and second extruder to replace SOVOL feeding mechanism, with some sensor to detect de synchronization between both extruders.
So the question is, how to even start with this task? Have you any tutorials or advises for newbie?
BUT if I could afford a Max I’d consider designing a ceiling mounted spool holder and feed to the extruder with NO PTFE tube at all. If you decide to add an enclosure you’d need a pyramid roof and a short tube.
ALSO On my SV07 I pull filament from my dryer through 1.5m of PTFE with zero problems. The curve in my setup is VERY gradual making a half circle with a radius of about 500mm. The center of the arc is supported by an elastic cord attached to an overhead shelf,
Is the “buffer” needed at all? Get rid of all the twists and turns I think you’d be fine without the buffer.
My SV08Max printed flawlessly for a good eight weeks until yesterday. Now I’m also experiencing the problem with the Auxiliary Extrusion Feeding Kit. The printer runs for a maximum of three minutes and then throws an error again. The Auxiliary Extrusion Feeding Kit isn’t fully retracted and therefore isn’t receiving a feed signal. I’ve already tried different springs, but unfortunately, nothing has worked. The printer is now completely unusable, and all because of this stupid Auxiliary Extrusion Feeding Kit. I’m going to try disabling it and printing without it, using top-feed filament. I just need to figure out what needs to be changed in the configuration data. I’m still a novice in that area.
I’ve also ordered the H2C in the meantime. But it won’t arrive until mid-January. But I really don’t want to do without the SV08Max. It prints really well and the build volume is fantastic.
