does anyone else’s aux feeder sound like crap? make a beeerrrrrrttt noise every time it feeds additional filament. I’ve taken it apart and everything looks fine. any help would be great!
I don’t have a Max so I can’t comment on how it sounds. The aux feeder uses a TMC2209 motor driver in UART mode.

There are MANY ways to tune the motor for quiet operation. ONE example is:
Or if you prefer you can manually set the parameters.
Motor specifications (90% sure based on motor dimensions measured from Sovol’s .step model of the aux feeder):
its sounds like a duck quacking every time it feeds . when there is no filament in it and you activate it its much less noisy but sounds like a duck quacking every 10 seconds
I’ve reduced velocity to 50, & accel to 1000 on mine. I’m currently testing it on those settings. It quietens it notably, & isn’t currently causing any issues feed wise.
It’s worth experimenting with those two values.
I replaced mile with a Infinity flow s1, no more noise, filament runout no longer an issue.
The noise of this one is now down to around half, possibly slightly less, of what it was. Reducing those speeds helped. I’ve also removed the grease from the internal gears & lubricated those with wax, as I noted slight gear noise. That’s gone now. Finally, reduced the travel distance of the tube/sleeve from 25mm to 21mm. Noted an occasional noise which suggested that the arm on that was contacting the housing. That’s now sorted. When the printer’s running now, you have to make an effort to hear the filament feeder, rather than it imposing its presence.
Did you have any issues getting the S1 to fully push the filament into the printhead?
