Adding a pause causing an issue?

I had a model I wanted to change colors mid print. I googled how to do this and someone suggested editing the gcode and adding a “M600” command to pause the print so I could switch filaments. When I did this everything ran fine until the pause, but there was no option to resume the print. There was a “yes” option to heat and switch filaments and a “No” to cancel the print. I finally had to cancel mod print.

Now when I start a new print I get the same error. Even after several power cycles. How do I clear this error?

One other tidbit… After reading an article of Bjorn’s at the same time that I switched the filament I also removed the filament from the right side and put it away cause it was no longer needed. Could this be the cause of the issue? Filament sensor? I would try it but it’s late and I’m going to bed

Hello Rursell,
first of all, welcome to the forum.

It will be difficult to provide targeted assistance without further details. A good way to start is to share following information:

  • printer state (e.g. firmware version, display software version, print mode, extruders loaded, runout sensors present, …)
  • printed g-code file & hidden temp files on your SD-card (if applicable)
  • actions you took (e.g. buttons pressed, temperatures selected, …)

In general, it is always a good idea to have a piece of filament in the runout sensors. The lit sensor LED indicates the the filament has been recognized.

PS:
I’ve written over 400 posts in this forum, therefore it would be helpful to be more specific…

Sorry for the incomplete data. I wouldn’t have bothered posting if I’d found your other message first. Putting a small piece of filament in the second extruder fixed my problem. Thank you
