What is the size that the left vs right extruder can and cannot reach on the X-axis of the build plate?

A footprint close to an SV08 Max with a build volume smaller than an SV08. That’s a deal breaker for me. Hopefully their tool changer is excellent and will be used on smaller printers too.
It’s only smaller if you use both nozzles.
The SV08 is 350x350. The M1D is only 300x300 for one print head and 240x300 for both. Much less in mirror mode.
Now that the Bondtech tool changer is starting to ship maybe it will be practical to have an SV08 with multiple material printing. Two materials would be a great step forward for me and 3 or 4 might get used. I have no desire for more.
Have you considered the possibility of 2 tools with the same filament but different nozzle diameters? Many models could print MUCH faster if you only use the small nozzle for top/bottom surfaces.
I’d like to be able to print PPA-CF with an 0.6 hardened nozzle and PPA with an 0.4 brass nozzle at the same time. I think I could make that work with the slicers I currently use by modeling something as nested parts. I would go to that level of trouble to make a part with properties I can’t currently achieve by other means. I doubt I’d bother with that level of part design effort to optimize printing speed with multiple nozzle sizes of the same material. I expect the time lost to tool changing would make it hard to come out much if at all ahead in many cases, especially the things I typically print. I rarely bother to spend serious effort on optimizing print speeds anyway. When I do it is not that hard to get my Zero printing at a significant fraction of the volumetric max for a given material with an 0.4 nozzle so the speed gain of an 0.6 or an 0.8 would be modest still limited by the hotend. Supporting tools with different nozzle sizes to speed up infill printing has been a marketing point for Creality’s coming tool changer. But for now I think that means using their slicer. It will interest me more when I know OrcaSlicer can do it for a given printer.
