As the title says, any advice on using an SV08 hotend on the Zero?

Basically I got a clog so bad it was just worth buying a new hotend, but I’m impatient and just Amazoned a SV08 hotend after seeing that they were practically identical, but it seems like it’s not exactly plug-n-play.

Klipper error:

`MCU 'extruder_mcu' shutdown: ADC out of range Sensor 'extruder' temperature 21812.802 not in range 0.000:355.000 This generally occurs when a heater temperature exceeds its configured min_temp or max_temp. Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the "FIRMWARE_RESTART" command to reset the firmware, reload the config, and restart the host software. Printer is shutdown`

and the screen on the machine itself just says error 62.

Any assistance would be appreciated

Thanks

They’re not interchangeable, and frankly, the Zero’s is much better. The SV08 MAX is using the same one as the Zero.

That’s unfortunate. I just needed this one to temporarily work until I can get a proper replacement, which would take a while.

in another forum thread there is already a discussion on using the MicroSwiss Hotend for SV08 as a replacement, it brakes down to an issue of the different lengths(need to add a 15mm riser block) and the different thermistors values and then an issue of replacing some screws + cutting the plastic cover of the tool head for the fan. its all very simple in theory but in practice its a matter of your skill.

as for a quick replacement i did get my replacement hot end very quick for sovol by about a week after order from the China warehouse to US.

The Zero is set up for a PT1000 temperature sensor.

You can change printer.cfg to a generic thermistor BUT the pull up resistor soldered to the toolhead board is optimized for the PT1000 and will not be as accurate with a generic thermistor.

The Sovol PT1000 is too large to fit into the notch in the SV08 heater block.

Triangle labs sells a PT1000 that fits the SV08.

Your bigger problem is your eddy sensor is going to hit the bed before you are close enough to the bed to print.
