# Thermistor Error After Boot

After finishing a print on the Sovol Sv04 IDEX, I turned off the machine to rest. When turning it on again, I came across the error “Thermistor Error” right at boot time. Between one print and another, nothing was done other than turning the printer off and turning it back on after a while, as I always do, after printing for a longer period of time. An image of the error is attached.

Hi,
What is the temperature in the room where is located the printer ?
If it’s too cold, this message is normal. It’s why I have placed my printer in a warmed enclosure.

In case of room temperature above 0°C this error screen indicates connection problems between motherboard and both nozzle + hot-bed thermistors. Loosing all three connections at once seems quite unlikely. Checking the connections between power supply and motherboard could help.

Hi,
I had this problem with an ambient temperature of about 7-8°C.
After warming the enclosure to more than 20°C, everything was back to normal even if I’m not sure it’s the real problem.

Good evening, I’m also having this problem with the thermistor 0/0 and the ambient temperature being 32°. Did you find a solution for you? How did you manage to fix it? I can’t boot the firmware; it freezes on the screen and restarts the board, and it won’t connect to the laptop.

Hello XXADRIANOXX & welcome to the forum,
the error message indicates temp errors of hot-bed or nozzle(s).
Nozzle check:
Examine heating cables and thermistor wires at each extruder:
- are all cables in place with electrical contact to heater / thermistor?
- is the insulation of the cables intact & free of crossovers (short circuits)?
- are the other ends of the cables still plugged in?
- are the cables free of any metal parts (e.g. extruder / blower housing) squeezing them?
Hot-bed check:
Unscrew & unplug the hot-bed Gx16-5 plug at the back of your SV04. Test the electrical resistance of the heater & the thermistor using a multimeter: [The plug has 5 connector pins.](https://renhotecpro.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/gx16-wiring-diagram-famale-plug-1030x462.jpg) Pin 1 & 2 at the right side of the plug connect the heater, measurement should show in 2.6 ohms.
Pin 4 & 5 at the left side of the plug connect the bed thermistor, measurement should show around 72 kilo ohms at 32°C.
In case of 0 ohms between pin 4 & 5 there is a short circuit [that can be solved as shown here.](https://forum.sovol3d.com/t/sovol-sv04-hot-bed-thermal-runaway-error/5296/12)
If all the above is O.K. then you need to check the electrical resistance of the nozzle thermistors using a multimeter, too. [It is described here.](https://forum.sovol3d.com/t/adjusting-incorrect-thermistor-values/505/2)
