Been printing non-stop with no issues until recently. Now I get this error on power up. Does anybody have any recommendations?

TIA!

The LDC1612 is the chip that interacts with the eddy coil. Apparently it is not initializing quickly enough to satisfy the toolhead MCU. Possible (but unlikely) a loose connection.

Get a support ticket opened ASAP

Email [info@sovol3d.com](mailto:info@sovol3d.com). Include your order number.

Then check all the connections at the toolhead board and at the eddy coil.

I fixed a typo in the email link. If You’ve already sent to the old link you’ll need to resend.

Thanks for the heads up to @Lion

Thanks @cardoc . I emailed the address but all I got was a reply saying to email aaron@sovol.tech, which I did. Still waiting for an answer.

Did you check cable connections at the toolhead board and the eddy? I recall another user had a routing issue with the ribbon connector to the eddy

I did see a user report a similar issue with the Zero so I checked my MAX. I did not see any ribbon cable on or near the print head. I removed the tool head cover and pressed on each of the wire connectors to see if anything appeared loose. I was able to boot the printer then, but when I tried to start a print, I got the same error. I’m guessing there is a bad wire harness, sensor or board. Waiting to hear what I should test next to narrow that down.

This is more likely to indicate a loose or faulty cable, especially on the cutting head or bed. Simply turn off the power, unplug and reconnect all connectors, and then try again. If the error still appears, it is likely due to a faulty cable, and replacing it will resolve the issue.

Thanks @tiffanywalker I will try that. I only pressed on the connections before. This time I will remove and reseat them.

So in working with [aaron@sovol3d.com](mailto:aaron@sovol3d.com) and aaron@sovol.tech, I found that the ribbon cable had come loose in the eddy sensor part. I didn’t find this until I removed the tool head cover, removed the upper screw holding the sensor to the tool head, and then found the sensor completely in my hand instead of dangling from the ribbon cable. I had to remove the lower screw holding the eddy sensor case together, remove the yellow glue holding the ribbon connector tab in place, rotate the connector tab up, insert the ribbon cable, and then reverse the process. Printer seems to be working fine now.
