I know the internet helps, YouTube, Reddit, etc.. but in general I’m fighting with supports. I’m slowly understanding them and what the knobs do, but could really use a good guide that shows the details for each of the options.
I found a few videos but they were for older versions of Orca Slicer, or specific to a particular need. I tried the GitHub documents from SoftFever, but the details under the [support section](https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/wiki/support_settings_support) were pretty thin. The page did help for some options, but not all.
In short I’d like to find a list of the options and a detailed explanation of them, how they interact with the other options as you tune them. For instance the branches that leave the main support tree, I cant figure out how to change the number of branches and distance they will reach before a new tree is required, I see other videos that have some really nice tree’s and many branches, but mine are just a overly thick tree and a couple of over sized branches.

Anyway, any links would be appreciated.

Cheers,
-Mike

Bambu Studio & Orca are about 95% the same, so this should give you a lot of info.

In [v2.3.1](https://orcaslicers.com/), how does the slicer compute pressure advance values, and under what conditions does the calibration assistant override user-defined values?

@iftimans If you are still looking for info related to your post. I ran into a issue that took me along the same path. I found the [Pressure Advance Calibration](https://github.com/OrcaSlicer/OrcaSlicer/wiki/pressure-advance-calib) pages useful.

Orca Slicer has a pretty good searchable Wiki I find myself using quite a bit.

Sharing for others new to the slicer world…

I have very little CAD experience, it would take far longer than I have to modify a part and make this simple filament cutter. I just needed to add a negative part for cutting a bit of space based on the parts I have and figured I’d use the slicer for this need. Unfortunately I found out Orcaslicer 2.3.1 does not have a true wireframing mode, at least not one I’m aware of.

It does partially have some options that can help. I found if you turn on outline part (beta) and disable the part from printing, you can see inside of the part for aligning negative or modifier parts inside of the internal areas.

**Enable selected part outline**

**Select the actual part (green)**

You can see the outline of the part but you cannot see inside of the part for aligning the negative part.

**Disable printing of the part**

If you disable the part from printing, you can see through the part allowing you to align inside of the part.

Will this work for complex models when trying to perform a quick fix, I don’t know but it helped for what I needed, thought I’d share here.

**FYI:** I needed to expand the [blade slot for this filament cutter](https://www.printables.com/model/68395-versatile-filament-cutter-regular-and-sharp-angle) the blades I have were a bit thicker. I had no idea 45 degree cuts work so well!, 99% of the time I’m able to feed the filament into my Sovol Zero without issue, prior I was eyeing my “angled” cuts and feeding was a nightmare…

Cheers,
-Mike
